Hello Everyone! Happy New Year! Recently, our Head Social Media Writer Naina posted a video making chai! Here is a more in depth history and recipe for chai.
“Chai” simply means “tea” in many Asian languages, originates from India, and holds a significant role in Asian culture specifically in the Southeast region, uniting families throughout households. Made of mostly milk, it carries a slightly spicy flavor that is perfect to enjoy for the holidays. To make chai, allow black tea leaves, water, and whatever spice you want to simmer in a pot. The spice depends on your preference so you can choose cardamom or even cinnamon for example. Next, add whole milk or 2% reduced fat milk into the pot and let everything come to a light boil. From here, you can add honey or sugar to sweeten your drink and then carefully pour it into a mug using a strainer. I hope you enjoy and develop a similar appreciation and love for chai.
1 1/2 tsp black tea leaves
1 1/4 cup water
1 cup milk
Depending on the spice you chose: 2-3 cardamom pods or 1 small cinnamon stick
Enjoy your warm cup of chai! Please stay warm during the rest of the winter.
BLOG UPDATE**
Hey Everyone! It has come to my attention from our team that many of our blogs have been used without credit on an Instagram account. Unfortunately due to this incident, our founder Lena has removed all the blogs that have been plagiarized as we deal with this situation. It is very upsetting to have your work stolen; however, I am trying to stay as positive as I can as our team handles this situation. Luckily, we were able to report the account and hope our future blogs do not get plagiarized.
Best regards,
